Ingredients
  • Cake :
  • 1cup-12 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2cup sugar
  • ¾cup cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1tsp baking soda
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1cup milk
  • 8tbsp oil
  • 2tsp vanilla extract
  • 1cup boiling water
  • 1½tsp Nescafe instant coffee granules
  • Chocolate frosting:
  • 8 tbsp butter or margarine, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 10tbsp cocoa powder
  • ⅓cup milk
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
  1. For Cake :
  2. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour three 9-inch round pans
  3. Stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl.
  4. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla; beat on medium speed of electric mixer 2 minutes. Stir in coffee. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  5. Bake 30 to 35 minutes for round pans or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  6. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire racks. Cool completely.
  7. To make the frosting:
  8. Beat room temperature soften butter in medium bowl until fluffy.
  9. Add powdered sugar and cocoa alternately with milk, beating to spreading consistency
  10. (additional milk or less may be needed). Stir in vanilla. About 2 cups frosting.
  11. Frost the cake.
  12. Garnish with chocolate sprinkles (optional) and set in a fridge for a few hours before serving.
